Behind the scenes of the creation of Complètement Design 2025

Three original projects presented by Yannick Laurin, Sébastien Parent and Renée Mailhot, the three founders of La Shed. The talk will focus on the firm's creative process, as well as on residential architecture that is inhabited and integrated into its context.

The Index-Design Award is a distinction honoring a local designer whose creation embodies the ability to materialize a vision into an original object or product. This award celebrates innovation, reflection and exploration in the practice of design in Quebec, in perfect harmony with the DNA of Complètement Design. It will be awarded to one of the designers exhibiting at the show.

Discover innovative strategies in circularity, biodiversity and responsible water management, supported by foresight as design tools to meet current challenges and anticipate a sustainable future.

Bringing together contemporary architects and designers from Quebec, this video installation investigates the potential of generative AI and the delicate balance between intention and unpredictability. Inspired by ambiguity, reinvention, and the unexpected, the work reflects on how human intuition and artificial intelligence come together to redefine creative conventions.

A collective project by emerging creators to demonstrate that error or imperfection in the creative process, far from being a failure, can become a creative and critical tool in the face of overly mechanical or conformist processes. Double Entendre explores how to integrate “human error” into standardized production processes to question the rigidities imposed by an overly rationalized approach. With the participation of artists Abeirst Practice (Jérémie Dussault Lefebvre and Sébastien Roy), Antoine Jeraj, Elizabeth Lenny, Eric Kirwin, Etienne Vernier, Julian Gregory, Laurent Lavoie, Liyang Zhang, Marc-Olivier Desjardins, Rebecca Sun Collins, Sarah Yao-Rishea, Xavier Ouellet.

L’installation de Delphine Huguet explore l’incertitude et l’imprévisible à travers la présence de textiles suspendus, invitant à imaginer un futur en constante mutation. L’installation in situ dialoguera avec la scénographie de l’événement en y intégrant soie, coton et lin blanc, des supports vierges aux textures variées, issus des expérimentations textiles de l’artiste. Les images colorées qui composent l’installation sont des photographies de ciels captés au crépuscule ou à l’aube aux quatre coins du Québec. Imprimées sur soie, ces images prennent des airs de peinture grâce au cadrage et à la matérialité du textile. En se détournant des cadres traditionnels associés à la pratique photographique, l’artiste ouvre un espace de réflexion où la matière évolue au rythme des regards et des imaginaires.

Studio Sveja imagine pour le restaurant une chaise sculpturale en mousse et fleurs, qui met en valeur les instants suspendus du processus créatif—ceux où les formes restent brutes, mouvantes, en quête d’identité. Fusionnant matières organiques et mécaniques malléables, la structure respire, se métamorphose, et célèbre la beauté insaisissable des créations en devenir.
